What would Estee think??

June 7, 2008

Something is in the water at Lauder.

I recently sampled two launch products that I absolutely live for and will definitely upgrade to full size when available.  As I scribbled down their full product names in my very special notebook detailing beauty refills I need and new products I want to test, it occurred to me — the  products are not exactly what comes to mind when thinking of the Lauder heritage and it’s best-selling product lines, nor are the names.

And much like our favorite heroine Carrie Bradshaw, I was left to ponder…

Is someone getting frisky over at 767 Fifth Ave??

What else could explain these highly flirtatious new category entrants that invoke such seductive names?

Could it be office paramours working “after-hours” on the development teams?  The lustful appetite of an aging yet insatiable consumer?  The need for product daring enough to warrant ultra-sexy images for print advertising?

Ok, maybe just be the overactive imagination of a young blogger staying in on a hot Saturday night and in need of some excitement (in the form of this post)?

Either way…

You need to know about Lauder’s AMAZING new fragrance and UNBELIEVABLE new mascara.

Sensuous: Adj. Highly appreciative of the pleasures of sensation.  OR, more specifically, Estee Lauder Sensuous Eau de Parfum Spray. An unusual woody amber that attracts like bees to honey.  I’m admittedly even attracted to myself when I wear it.  I just can’t get enough of me!  So buy it and fall in love… with yourself to start.  (esteelauder.com/sensuous)

Sumptuous: Adj. Luxuriously fine or large; lavish; splendid.  OR, more precisely, Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara.  The padded bra of mascaras.  It gives you the fullness and lift that mama didn’t.  I have used it on girls who insist they need an eyelash curler only to convert them into believers. It’s incredible what can happen once you inject a little drama in your lashes. (www.esteelauder.co.uk, not yet available in USA)

    Wow – gooooood to know….
I’ve been using it for the past 3 nights and I really like how it feels and that’s it’s curative (like for a burn or wrinkles) and also preventative (like for future lines and spots that I’m not going to take lying down).
Also testing Creme de la Mer. Any thoughts? Worth the big bucks or no?!
