Style Icons
I spent part of this weekend tearsheeting hair and makeup looks for an upcoming event. As I dedicated myself to this very necessary and important project, I realized I have very specific preferences… And I’m kind of scared as to what they say about me.
To sum it up in two words (something my dad is famous for doing): Drag. Queen.
ALL the celebs I look to for beauty/fashion/style inspiration have been compared to Drag Queens (albeit by the nasty, bitchy, far inferior and jealous tabloid press… but STILL).
What could this mean??!
My Top 3 Style Icons
1. Jennifer Lopez (PERFECTION personified in 9.9 out of 10 public appearances)
2. Kim Kardashian (consistent with the sexy yet reliable combination of a smoldering smoky eye, a light lip, and hot as hell curves)
3. Kimora Lee Simmons (a fearless fashionista – always over-the-top, she is unafraid of feathers and ruffles and shimmer and shine and showing skin and, of course, over-accessorizing)
I cannot lie. These are my go-to girls. While it’s a little disturbing to me now in this context, I stand firm in their fan-clubs.
