Breaking WWD News: Nick Arrojo no longer part of the What Not To Wear team.
Replacement: Ted Gibson.
Wow. Changing the formula of one of my favorite shows…
I wonder what the impetus for such a change could be?
Is WNTW looking for a celebrity angle? Ted definitely boasts an A-list clientele.
And I wonder if they kept Carmindy after reading my glowing (literally) review of her Sally Hansen cream blush.
Maybe they should switch that up too and, to contrast the celeb hairstylist of course, use an up&coming NYC makeup artist/blogger/magazine executive with a beauty background?? ;)
I mean, they did say they are looking for new and “fresh”….

I couldn’t agree more. I find it to be incredibly hypocritical that Carmindy knows nothing about skin care, far more important than all the makeup in the world, and the advice she has given has been completely bad advice. The makeup line, having tried four different products and returned all, I couldn’t be more unimpressed. Natural beauty implies beauty without makeup, and no one could possibly recognize Carmindy the makeup girl on WNTW, without makeup. She is pale with heavily freckled skin, while she tells her MO that freckles are meant to be seen. Her skin is completely flawless making me sure she is wearing matte makeup, probably Mac. Not to be mean, but she really doesn’t have a personality, and I can literally feel her insincerity, I feel like she probably walks around with a mirror in her hand. After skimming through her “book”s, I was appauled at the number of photos of herself. I believe I counted 24! Self confidence is one thing, but her “affected” tone and obvious struggle to be nice (her expression when one of the girls cried prior to becoming victim to the now late Nick, the hair destroyer) her expression at one point was so mean I thought she was going to laugh, I’m certain she had to really fight not to. I mean it was really obvious, I rewound it just to see it at least four times just to make sure I saw what I saw.
She and her sparkle fetish need to be replaced. First by someone with actual natural beauty, who is also beautiful inside wouldn’t suck especially considering the hosts.
I’d also like to say that Stacy was going against Carmindy’s rule of no lipliner, as it was so thick I actually agreed with Carm on that, though I think it’s rather stupid considering if you use it not to overline your lips but simply keep your lipstick/balm/or gloss within the rim. Not to mention I couldn’t believe what Stacy was wearing. The other night it was a horrendous green top with matching green patchy skirt. It was an eyesore. Then her black top with god awful skirt this morning.
I look forward to killing the fifteen minutes that have lasted way too long for certain people on that show.
I watched WNTW today, have seen it a couple of times, enough to know it’s another reality show that is just taking up space for good shows that once were on. Ted is incredible! They should give him his own show, he is the ONLY one on there with a real personality, not being fake trying to act sincere, I just love him. He’s so real. Speaking of.
The makeup artist, Carmindy? Missing a personality. I can’t even explain it in words, she just tries to seem sincere but I couldn’t believe how in love with herself she seems. It’s as if they interviewed the people that only judge others and think they are better than everyone. However, Stacy in this episode looked incredible. Her makeup was very natural, and normally when I’ve seen the show, she has so much lip liner and lipstick on it’s distracting. Clinton? I like him, and Stacy was ok, but why she is getting so many commercials, especially when most people don’t know the show at all. There is nothing to her but with everything on tv only hiring bitchy conceited people as a trend that I keep praying will end. Will they ever go back to written scripts with great dialouge and good stories, the producers are too afraid to lose their jobs by taking a chance on these shows, they just keep pushing these pathetic shows. Anyone can be on tv now, no talent, no personality, just me me me, every channel you try. I don’t know who anyone is on the cover of magazines when I’m in the store.
And as far as books go, since once you’re on tv you get a book deal and whatever else comes with it, I couldn’t believe the books by Carmindy. I have never seen, except perhaps by Madonna, someone who would have the conceit to fill the books with pictures of herself. It is so pathetic I could puke.
Ted replacing Nick was the best thing they could have done, except his real honest personality only points out the obviousness of how fake everyone else is. I think they need to make one more change, which by now I’m certain is easy to guess. Replace the makeup girl, she’s average in talent and empty in soul. The MO on the show today was quite aware of it, and I think if given the chance would have called her on it. I guess I just don’t understand TV anymore.
Can’t wait till this show gets cancelled, and have no doubt no matter what there will be a great future for Ted. He’s one of a kind. And again, makes everyone else look like jerks, not that he’s trying to, but when you are an unaffected nice talented person surrounded by stuck up know it all self absorbed people, you tend to stand out. Good for him, I only wish he was on a different show.
I couldn’t agree more. Sincerity is something missing from everyone on that show, and Ted! OMG! He is awsome. And actual real, sincere, adorable talented man. He makes everyone else seem like sniveling jerks because this guy is the real thing. The kind of person you just want to hug and be close friends with. Everyone else, especially Carmindy (after seeing she put out a book which is basically a photo album of herself) what kind of person does that? I think we know, and it isn’t a good thing. A fresh change with an actual Natural Beauty and a real and warm personality would be great! I think the MA’s personality is so transparent. She’s the same person that was rude and even cruel in the beginning, her real personality. She was forced to change it due to so many complaints, but again, her books ? I don’t even want to talk about it.
People say stupid things like “jealous?” Of what? No one on tv anymore has any talent, it’s all just reality cheese shows that are getting worse and worse. Any idiot can get their fifteen minutes of fame, a book deal and god knows what else now days.
If you are going to be on TV, the least the producers and casting agents could do is pick people with real personalities and REAL sincerity. Good luck Ted, you’re surrounded by life sucking negative self absorbed people, they could eat you alive!
