Not gonna lie – bangs are kind of totally exciting!! Pretty sure I am going to recut mine in the fall. They are totally grown out now. I may do a keratin treatment on just the bangs so they stay super straight and are easier to style than my first time around. sorry for my tardiness here…
yes, the ingrown eliminating pads from bliss are great. also shobha has its own ingrown relief lotion that i liked and a rosewater calming gel that i loved… and a very wise woman (aka miss kelly above) once told me wayyyy back in 2003 that secret roll-on deodorant works on this very special and delicate region. it can sting a touch but has always worked for me.
i also think gently exfoliating is key because the bumps happen after hair removal and then again when the hair is growing back and gets trapped by skin.

Well I’ll chime in since I have sensitive skin…the best product I’ve used are these pads by Bliss – they are pre-moistened with soothing ingredients like oat extract and witch hazel that you can start using after 24 hours and they REALLY keep things from getting ingrown or irritated after waxing (not sure about sugaring). Great product.

You may not be able to answer this since you don’t have sensitive skin, but right after waxing or shaving (usually the next day) I sometimes get “irritation bumps”. Does sugaring spare ppl from this as well? If not, is there any skin care trick to prevent these? B/c I sure do hate them! Thanks

Flor – it’s amazing!! I don’t have the most sensitive skin to start with but the difference between this method and waxing is dramatic – so even for women who have more sensitive skin but still want that super smooth result, it’s a great alternative. Loved it.

I have naturally wavy hair so when I get out of the shower I add a quarter size of Rusk Sheer Brilliance Serum to it (wet or damp). Then I blast it with the hairdryer for about 3-4 minutes depending on how wet. (I do not comb or brush through!) Then I twist it up in a clip and get ready. Before leaving my apt, I unclip and add a dime size amount of the same product (Rusk Sheer Brilliance). Then I spray with a texture-building or anti-humidity hairspray. I LIVED for Pantene Texturize Hairspray as did sooooo many, but it was cruelly discontinued :( Now I use Garnier Anti-Humidity Hairspray for a similar effect. The whole process takes 5 minutes to do. Easy breezy!

Interesting. She was only bare faced in the first photo but yeah, she can def do the natural look with such a pretty face. I liked her best in the final look minus the red lip. But we were testing product and she wanted red lips so we went all the way with it.

Thanks for the feedback Jordana. It was definitely the trademarked product – I got a salon recommendation from the local distributor and saw the branded bottles. The stylist has been on holiday but is back this weekend so I will report on the outcome after I see her. I’m convinced it is the product wearing off as it’s getting worse and worse – it’s still straight now but I am back to using flat irons to eliminate frizz 4.5 weeks post treatment :(

OK it’s Three Custom Color – http://www.threecustom.com and go to Custom Blending.

If they have the shade on file (meaning someone else already ordered it) it’s a lot cheaper. I didn’t see MAC N1, but maybe too soon. If you can’t live without it, you can send them a sample of it and they will make it for you – more $ upfront, but cheaper on re-orders.

I’ve used them and it was easy and color was perfect! I’ll probably use them again on something else I love that went to lip color heaven (discontinued). :-)

It was from the N Collection… N1 was the shade. It’s the perfect gold. I also use it on the cupids bow as highlighter. It’s lighter but similar to Sunsational from the Style Warriors collection – which is my all time favorite MAC collection ever from the shades to the sick packaging!! Love love love!

These are actually pretty tight!
I tried clear ones for loose pigments once to lighten my kit and not only were they not airtight, they opened during travel. And for anyone unfamiliar with loose pigments, it’s a NIGHTMARE to clean up.
Since doing this test with the lipstick, I’ve also used these pots for Make Up For Ever Aqua Creams and MAC Paint Pots which are known to dry up even in their own packaging (plastic for MUFE, glass for MAC) – and so far, perfect!!
But, to your point, you could just put enough for touch-ups in the portable pot and store the product in its original packaging if you wanted to be safe.

Hey Lauren! Just a quick note about putting certain formulas in these little travel pots. Just remember that gel eyeshadows and similar formulas contain volatiles, which help to add to their creamy texture and longwearing capabilities, and therefore require airtight packaging. These little pots from Ricky’s are never airtight :( but they are great for lipsticks and formulas that have greater longevity. So….if you notice that some of your formulas dry up faster in this convenient little package, that’s what’s up! Just a tip from one of your product development friends…xoxo

There’s a place – forget the name – that you can send a sample and they will PERFECTLY create it again. I did it once and they nailed it, you could not tell the difference! It is expensive the first time but then re-orders get cheaper. I’m about to do it again for another beloved discontinued item and I’ll let you know the name…

@Anonymous I’m sorry to hear you’re not happy with the treatment. Are you sure you had the Brazilian Blowout brand treatment? Some other treatments are not designed to be rinsed from the hair, and unfortunately some salons can be misleading about what product they use. As described above, Brazilian Blowout is a brand-name treatment and not a ‘category’ referring to many brands.

If iy was the real Brazilian Blowout that you had, I am sorry to say that it sounds like some corners were cut during your salon visit. The first step is to shampoo with BB Ant-Residue Shampoo 2-3 times or as needed to achieve ‘squeaky-clean’ hair, and after the flat-ironing step the product should be fully rinsed from the hair, conditioned with the Masque and then styled as you (the client) wish. I would recommend calling and making an appointment to speak with the stylist who did your hair, and the manager or owner of the salon, so you can discuss your situation. Hopefully, they can offer you a simple solution, even if it is re-doing the treatment. Please report back!

I had the BB treatment 2.5 weeks ago and I’m not that happy with the results :( It was great for the first few days but now it seems to be wearing off and my hair is quite dull. I’ve only used the BB shampoo on it, but with my usual conditioner. When I had the treatment the stylist only washed it once and never put on the last masque as she said my hair had absorbed the treatment well and didn’t need to be washed again, and I took her word for it. I would love to get your opinion so that I am in a good position going back to discuss it with her.

Alternatively, could it be because of a silicone build up due to using a sulfate free shampoo for the first time?

Hey there!!
My personal feeling is if you’re going to do eyelash extensions, you should go to a professional. Never DIY!! It’s just not a risk you should take despite the youtube videos, websites etc. It takes a few hours even for a pro and involves lashes being semi-permanently glued on. You want to make sure to go somewhere reputable where they don’t use cheap glue or potentially hurt the eye.
I love false lashes as an alternative – you can buy the individuals and adhere them and if you are careful with washing your face and removing eye makeup, they can last several days.
I would also try Latisse over DIY extensions. I have more confidence in something FDA approved.
